Adjusting the Valves
The one job that's a piece of cake once you get the valve cover off. The key here is to fabricate a remote starter button, or buy one and adapt it to the service connector. The socket requires .100" dia pins. I used suitable NZ technology by cutting some short lengths of 121/2 G (.100" dia) fencing wire and connecting (via soldering) lamp cord to a pushbutton switch. I also drew a "map" of the service connector and attached it to the button so I would be less likely to plug things into the wrong place. The relevant pins are 11 and 14.
This is much more convenient than rotating the engine by hand. Note, you do not have the ignition switch on during use.
The specified valve clearance is .012" when stone cold. There are also some wire tools you will need to help you with this task - others on the 'net have documented this.
Lastly, I would suggest being gentle when tightening the lock nuts on each rocker. The "loosening torque" on the eccentric due to the valve action would be very low in this clever design.
